Let’s take a closer look at them.
One of the biggest causes of frustration and disappointment in life is unfulfilled expectations and life outcomes. Why won’t my children, spouse, employees, friends, and so on behave the way I think they should? They never will, so relax and let them.
The execution of all the actions of others is in their hands, not in yours. This is not to suggest that you should never have expectations. All I’m saying is that if you want to spend a lot of time and energy being disappointed, expect others and life to do – what you want or need!! Sooner or later, everyone – yes, everyone in life – will disappoint you. This includes friends, parents, spouses, children, bosses and clients.
Managing your expectations means you understand that life happens and period. We all learn everyday, whether by accident, design or purpose, but we all learn what life wants us to learn now.
One of the critical skills for continued success is the ability to bounce back from adversity. Sooner or later in life, everyone experiences failure, disappointment and setbacks, or loses the desire or purpose to continue.
Just because you failed doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Just because you’ve achieved success doesn’t mean you’re successful. Many people have hit rock bottom only to climb out and achieve greatness later in life, and many people have done great things with ease or early in life but ended up penniless, alone, and with no lasting sense of accomplishment.
There must be more to life than having it all, knowing it all, and doing it all. It exists, but its value to you will often be lost while you’re in this relentless pursuit of more. Resilience is not just about attracting and accumulating things from the outside in, but gaining wisdom from the inside out, understanding, compassion, trust and patience.

Fear does strange things to many people. It causes them stress, anxiety, frustration, anger and insecurity and often prevents them from taking any action – rational or otherwise. Fear restricts blood flow, limits our vision, increases blood pressure, and prevents clear thinking.
Fear – a healthy fear – is a positive trait in the right place and at the right time. It can prevent us from unwise and often life-threatening actions and heighten our awareness that something is wrong or needs our attention. What is your typical reaction to events, circumstances, or people that instill fear into your consciousness? Are you running and hiding? Face him or face them? Go into denial? Ignore? Do you delay taking action that will quickly eliminate the cause of your fear?

In every relationship, career, project or goal, there is a point where our resolve to keep going is tested. Winners realize that they must break through this barrier before they can enjoy the true fruits of their labor. On the other hand, quitters give up at the first sign of resistance or distress.

Years ago, Lionel Tiger wrote a book called Optimism, the Biology of Hope. In it, Tiger makes the assumption, after a lot of research, that people who are optimistic tend to live longer and get sick less often than people who are pessimistic and negative. So we have reality in the middle. What is realistic? Nobody knows. If you told Emerson, Bell, or many others that what they were experimenting with was unrealistic, they would all have to agree with you. So why did they continue their relentless pursuit of something new despite uncertain outcomes, constant discouragement, overwhelming skepticism and public scorn? Because they didn’t know what couldn’t be done. They didn’t know what was impossible. They did not persist because they knew that sooner or later their efforts would pay off, they persisted because of extreme optimism. If we were realistic, it could be years before we had a telephone or electricity.
Have you ever tried something you believed in for no apparent reason? What did the people around you say? Be realistic. It can’t be done. No one has done this before.
In my opinion, being realistic is just another form of negativity. Who knows what is not possible? Nobody. The only way to find out what is and isn’t possible is to try. The problem is that many people give up just when they are on the verge of success. So their reaction is, “I guess you were right, that’s impossible. I was being unrealistic.”

Are you slowly killing yourself? If you haven’t read an article about stress, you probably just landed here from some distant planet. I also bet that if you are an employee, an employer, a parent, a spouse, a student, a retired worker – over and over again – you know the symptoms of stress. But you may not be fully aware of the causes and how you contribute to this deadly killer.

We do this in the name of; success, financial gain, profit, competition, win, better, bigger, sexier, younger, wiser, more and more. And in the long run, we end up with less. Less satisfying relationships, poor health, less fun, less happiness and less pure joy in life. We miss the smile of a friend. We long for a peaceful day.
We cheat ourselves for the simple things in life that money can’t buy. Life isn’t perfect. Relationships aren’t perfect. Business is never perfect. Humans are not machines. Life is to be lived one joyful minute at a time. Stress keeps you locked in the future or the past and out of the present. In my opinion, stress is the biggest threat to happiness, joy and a truly rewarding life. I hope I have your attention. If you’re stressed, I don’t need to tell you. Your body does a great job of letting you know this right this minute. You either ignore the signals or override them with drugs, pills or some kind of stimulant.

Life outlook is everything when it comes to life’s ups and downs. The outlook on life says, “I can handle this, it’s nothing special, things will work out, I’m better than what I’m facing, I can overcome it.” Or he says, “I’m doomed, I’m not worthy, I’m going to crash and burn; things always turn out badly for me.”
Life outlook is the result of various experiences, early conditioning, self-esteem and mindset that develops over the years.
If you want to prevent various future valleys or at least their impact on your life, it would be wise to do a “Life Outlook” revision. By this I mean take some time to think about your past experiences and your reactions to them. You might want to ask some people close to you a simple question: “How would you describe my outlook on life?”
The number one reason people fail to overcome difficult times and challenges is that they fail to show gratitude for what they have and stay focused on what they lack in life. There is overwhelming evidence that people who can maintain a mindset of gratitude have less trouble dealing with adversity than those who are always crying, complaining, or stuck in a victim mentality.
It is said that happiness is nothing more than an opportunity for a preparatory meeting. So what is proper preparation? There are three areas; attitudes, activities and decisions. The right preparation in your relationship is to deal with both reality and what you can control. There’s no point in fretting over things you can’t control – wasted time, energy and effort. Worry is a killer, and most people spend more time worrying about things they can’t control than focusing on actions and behaviors in those things they can control.
Preparing for activities is simply using common sense, a practical outlook on life, and combining past lessons with future plans and goals, then acting confidently and poised in your moments.
Preparation for decision-making is about learning from the past – that is mistakes, failures, misjudgments and mistakes and learning from them. It’s not about just trying to make the right decisions, it’s about focusing on making the decisions that are made turn out to be the right ones. Wrong decisions can turn out to be good and right decisions can often turn out to be bad. The key to effective preparation is to be fully aware of your personal blind spots, prejudices and mindsets and personal beliefs that are not grounded in reality. Once you achieve this, you are now ready to make better decisions, create sound action plans, and create the necessary steps to achieve your desired results.
