High Blood Pressure – A Dangerous Problem With An Often Simple Solution

In recent years, dietary and lifestyle changes in many Western societies have led to an increase in the number of people suffering from high blood pressure.

High blood pressure (otherwise known as hypertension or more correctly arterial hypertension) is a serious condition that rarely has any symptoms and which, if not detected and treated, can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure, arterial aneurysm or kidney failure – these are all consecutive life-threatening conditions.

So what is high blood pressure and what causes it?

But what causes your blood pressure to rise and stay elevated?

This group includes low birth weight, various genetic factors, some forms of diabetes (especially type 2 diabetes) and your age (as we grow older, our arteries become fibrous and lose elasticity, making the groin an area through which blood can flow) .
